Project Tango Finally, a Java and .NET Web Services interoperable Toolkit: An implementation of Reliability, Security, and Transactions WS-* specifications and interoperability with .NET 3.0
This session will introduce you to Project Tango, an open source implementation of the key enterprise Web services technologies, commonly known as WS-*.
The features provided by Project Tango are divided into three main areas; Security, Reliability, and Transactions which will all be discussed today.
I will also introduce you to the WSIT plugin for the open source IDE NetBeans which will help developers rapidly build interoperable Java based Web applications in little time.
From the Project Tango website, https://wsit.dev.java.net/
Project Tango develops and evolves the codebase for Web Services Interoperability Technologies (WSIT) that enable interoperability between the Java platform and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) (aka Indigo).
Project Tango's WSIT technology bundled inside the open source application server GlassFish v2. It is also possible to download a more recent version of WSIT and install into GlassFish or Tomcat.
Project Tango uses JAX-WS and JAXB as a foundation upon which to build plugins to provide web services features such as bootstrapping communication, optimizing communication, reliable messaging, atomic transactions, security and trust.
